Frequently Asked Questions
-
Are the digital tutor courses available for tablets or smart phones? No, the digital tutor (DT) courses require a large amount of screen space to display properly the dialogue and the workspace area. iPads, tablets, and smart phones don’t provide this needed space. The DT courses work only with workstations and laptops.
-
Is there a time limit for completing a DT course?DT courses are self-paced in nature and do not have time limits. Each person can work at his or her own pace. We recommend doing most courses within a 2 weeks window. This pace helps to keep information fresh from one lesson to the next.
-
Where can i find the course login link? The login screen may be accessed from various places in this website. The easiest link is in the footer section of each page under the “Instruction” heading and then “Course Login.” Feel free to use this link as well.
-
What browser applications do you recommend for running the digital tutor courses? The digital tutor has been tested with Google Chrome and Mozilla Firefox. Other browsers may do well, but they have not been fully tested yet.
-
Why do I sometimes see cropped portions of text or illustrations in the DT workspace?Older screens or laptops (7 years +) with lower resolutions may sometimes crop part of a large workspace area. If this is the case, adjust the % zoom of your browser as shown below. In Google Chrome, click on the 3 vertical dots found in the upper right hand of the window. A window menu will expand and you can adjust the screen view percentages under the Zoom setting as shown below. Most issues get resolved with a 80% setting. Firefox browser has a similar feature in the same place where 3 horizontal lines are displayed.
-
Why is the first lesson not visible when I first sign in?Prior to starting the lessons the digital tutor requires each user to do the introduction called “Let’s Meet the DT.” Here you will learn how to use the DT. Once you complete the introduction, the first lesson will appear.
-
Why does the next lesson not show?It is possible that you did not hit the return or enter key on the last dialogue of the lesson where the blessing or prayer appears. If this step is not done, the DT does not register that you fully completed the lesson.
-
Why does the numerical dialogue box not accept numbers written with letters?Numerical questions accept only digits. For example, instead of typing “ten,” please type the digits “10.”
